This year we are honoring John Moser. John has been instrumental in the growth of boys and girls lacrosse in the five boroughs. He has served as CEO of Citylax, a nonprofit organization that has introduced and developed lacrosse programs at over 50 high schools and 7 middle schools in New York City. Working with the inner city programs provided John with an avenue to promote and grow the game he loves to a group of boys and girls that would otherwise have never heard of lacrosse. Moser has also patrolled the lacrosse sidelines as an assistant Coach at the Buckley School Youth Team (2007-2010), Poly Prep (2009-2013) and the NYC Empire Cup Championship Team (2012-2015). In 2011 Poly Prep captured the State Private School Championship. In addition, John has also coached in the Doc’s NYC youth lacrosse program. John’s love for lacrosse was inherited from his mother, who graduated from William Smith (Hobart) College. Moser played goal at Madison High School in New Jersey where he earned All-State honors in 1977. Following High School, John matriculated at Lafayette College where he played goalie and faced off for some of Coach Bill Lawson’s winningest Leopard squads. His love for lacrosse has been passed down to his sons Chris, a junior Midfielder at Castleton University and Dylan, a freshman goalie at Wesleyan University. A graduate of Lafayette College, John has had a distinguished 30+ year career in the hospitality industry, 15 of which were spent as the general manager of several luxury hotels in New York as well as running several celebrity chef restaurants and luxury spas. For 12 years, John served as the Chief Marketing Officer for a boutique hotel company which has properties in several major US Markets. An adjunct professor at New York University, in addition to serving on the Boards of the Friends of Lafayette Lacrosse, Bromley Outing Club where he served as treasurer, Madison Golf Club and the Dorset Field Country Club
