The Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Foundation, a chapter of US Lacrosse, proudly invites you to join us on September 26, 2019 for the 29th annual Bernard “Doc” Schoenbaum – Harvey Cohen Golf Classic at the Tam O’Shanter Club in Upper Brookville, New York. This year we are proud to honor John Gagliardi.
John graduated from Manhasset High School in 1992 where he was an AllAmerica lacrosse player and All-County football player. John then attended Johns Hopkins where he earned third team All-america honors as a junior and first team honors as a senior. Following college, Gagliardi played professional indoor lacrosse for the New York Saints and Philadelphia wings of the NLL from 1998- 2001. In 1999, John was selected to the US Men’s National Team winning a gold medal. In 2001, he joined the New York Lizards and was a Major League Lacrosse All-Star from 2001-2007. In 2006, John was a member of the US Men’s team which captured a silver medal in London, Ontario. He was named to the All World Team following the tournament.
Gagliardi joined the US Lacrosse Board in 2017, and has served as a volunteer coach for the Manhasset PAL for over 10 years and is a volunteer girls lacrosse coach for the Manhattan Crescents program.
He is a founding member of the lacrosse equipment and apparel company Maverik which was sold to Bauer Hockey and now works with Bauer/Maverik/Cascade to make lacrosse equipment safer for boys and girls. He is also co-founded No Limit Lacrosse Camps and is an investor in the Premier Lacrosse League.
