Shootout for Soldiers Long Island raises nearly $180,000

It was a great 2 days at the Shootout for Soldiers-Long Island. $180,000 raised for our Veterans and Men and Women in Uniform. Thank you to all our Volunteers, Nassau and Suffolk PAL teams, Adults teams, our 1st Responder teams, Youth Club teams, all of our sponsors, and all of our Veterans. Special thanks to the Long Island Metro Chapter of USA Lacrosse who continue to keep our heroes number 1 in their hearts to put this event on. And thank you to our Co-Chair, Mike Nelson… of the hardest working people in our game.

Shootout for Soldiers is a 24 hour lacrosse event with a mission to use lacrosse as a platform to support American veterans and foster community engagement. The games are fun – and are meant to bring the community together in support of our nation’s heroes. There is no championship or all-star team and the score runs for all 24 hours.

Founded by a group of Maryland High School students in
2012, Shootout for Soldiers has raised over $3 million in funding for a variety of programs for veterans.
