Friends of the LIMLF and Long Island Lacrosse, One of our most vital programs here at the LIMLF, the LIMLF Hammerheads Wheelchair Lacrosse Team, is in need of help from the Long Island Lacrosse Community. The Hammerheads Wheelchair Lacrosse program, in its 6th year of existence, was hit very hard by the pandemic and was not able to support itself through regular fundraising and donations. The WLUSA National Tournament will be held this year in Denver in August. Help send your Long Island team to nationals ! Any amount of donation will be helpful, and sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more info on the Hammerheads please go to www.limetrolax.org. Follow the Hammerheads on IG at @liwclax ! Please also see the attached letter for more info. 6/2/2022 LIMLF Hammerheads Wheelchair Lacrosse Team Fundraiser Plea We need your help! The Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation (LIMLF) is a non for profit with all volunteer members. For decades the Long Island Metropolitan Lacrosse Foundation has tirelessly served the New York Metropolitan Lacrosse community in every conceivable capacity to maintain and safeguard its cherished traditions. The laundry list of programs and accomplishments is too extensive and textured to acknowledge and too important to prioritize. Unfortunately, only one opponent had the audacity to challenge the supremacy of its purpose…a pandemic. Never a greedy moneymaker, our sole objective was to promote and support the many outlets that encourage and maintain ALL of the layers that contribute to the fastest sport on two feet! And never a quitter, we’re exploring ways to benefit those endeavors that rely on us. Can you help? One of our programs, our Wheelchair Team, the LIMLF Hammerheads, is in need of assistance in order to help build the program and attend the WLUSA National Tournament in Denver this August. Any donation towards this goal would be essential to the continuation of this vital program. For more info on the Hammerheads program please visit http://www.limetrolax.org Thank you for your contribution to the LIMLF Hammerheads Wheelchair Team – venmo @limetrolax What is the money used for? We help improve, promote, and grow the sport of lacrosse. Some of our accomplishments include but are not limited to monetary and equipment donations to under privileged youth programs through our BRIDGE program (Building Relationships to Diversity, Growth, and Enrichment), awards, recognitions, and scholarships to high school boys and girls’ players. Sponsor and help maintain a 9-11 memorial located at Farmingdale State College. Long Island Metro Lacrosse Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization 501 (c), Tax Exempt #203653, EIN #11-3044206.
