Dear Shootout for Soldiers Long Island Participant ! The event is 16 days away !!
The 10th Annual Shootout for Soldiers Long Island is scheduled for July 11th and July 12th at John J. Burns Park in Massapequa. For those of you that are new to the Shootout for Soldiers, it’s a continuous lacrosse game benefiting Wounded American Military Members, our Veterans, and our current Troops. The event is FUN. It’s not a tournament, nor is it about recruiting. The event is all about supporting those who have or are still serving our great country. All proceeds of the event will benefit these Veterans Charities; The US Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund; The Long Island Air Force Association, the Warrior Ranch and the Strongpoint Ranch ( Theinert Foundation). As of last year’s event, we passed the 1.5 million dollar mark raised for our charities on Long Island – THANK YOU for your support of our event !!
This year, the format is TWO – 12 hour days of continuous lacrosse and your team will play for 1 full hour of that time against another team ( unless you have selected a dual registration ). The first day of the event starts at 9:00am on Thursday, July 11th and ends at 9:00pm. The second day, Friday, July 12th will also start at 9:00am on and end at 10pm with our closing ceremony and check presentation. You just need to be there for the 1 hour your team is scheduled to play and we hope our young men, women and their families will stick around to meet and greet some of our Veterans and service members who will be in attendance as well as to see the Vietnam Veterans ceremony. It is a great day and one of the best lacrosse experiences the participants will ever have at a Lacrosse event. Food and drinks are all complementary (any donations suggested)

We appreciate your involvement and any personal sacrifices … but let’s not forget the sacrifices made by our military and their families. THAT’S WHY WE DO THIS !!
Your team also MUST have reached it’s fundraising goal in order to be put on the schedule ! If you do not reach the fundraising requirement, your team will not be scheduled.
SHOUT OUT TO “TEAM SMITHTOWN 2031” WHO ARE IN THE LEAD ! THEY HAVE RAISED $4,380.00 SO FAR … FOLLOWED BY “PEQUA ‘2034” BOYS AND “STARS AND SNIPES” !! WHO IS GOING TO CATCH THEM ??
Team Registration:
Each team is requested to raise $750 dollars in order to participate. Each team has to pay an initial $100 towards registration. All players that want to participate will be required to donate a minimum of $50 to the cause, which is the registration fee. It is then the responsibility of the team members to fundraise to obtain whatever balance is needed or to continue to fundraise as much as possible to help our Veterans and Troops. Fundraising is done by asking family, friends, etc to donate and each player can set up their own fundraising page once they register as a member of the team which can be shared. It is that easy !

Shootout for Soldiers Long Island 2024: Registration 101
Once your page comes on the left hand side click on the “Join Team” tab. Once you do that scroll down to Player Registration and register.
Please register your son or daughter ASAP to participate for their teams and this is mandatory. And remember each player that participates must donate $50.00 through their registration to this great cause. Each player also receives a Free Shootout for Soldiers T-Shirt (if registered after 6/13 you are not guaranteed a t-shirt) AND a reversible game pinny for being part of the day. Each Player will also get community service hours as well if needed. Please contact us with any registration questions you might have.

Wishing you, your families and your teammates, a happy, proud and festive Independence Day.
Happy 4th and LET’S GO !!
The event is comprised of 24, 1-hour games in a row and is open to men’s and women’s teams of all ages. Each team that registers gets to play in one 1-hour slot as part of either Stars or Stripes, and we will match you with an opposing team of the same age. Every team must fundraise at a minimum of $750 to play, and the Team Captain makes an initial $100 donation when they create a team. Once the team page is created, players can then click “Join a Team” and type in the name of their team to join. Every player must make an initial $50 donation which sets up their own individual fundraising page and provides the player with a Jersey to play in.
What is Dual Slot Registration?
A dual Slot is when a team will fill both the Stars and Stripes of a given hour. You can register for a “Dual Slot” – which is a minimum $1,500 fundraising goal ($750 for Stars + $750 for Stripes). This is typically used for father-son games, mother-daughter or alumni hours. Last year a boys and girls high school team did a “stick swap” game during the full hour. It’s all about fun and a Dual Slot registration is the perfect way to block out the time to try something new!
Veterans & Active Duty Game
Every event will include a Veterans and Active Duty Game. This game is FREE and interested Veterans and Active Duty service members can register below.
