Members of the Long Island Metro Lacrosse Community,
Thank you to those who attended our LIMLF Town Hall on officiating on Thursday night. We hope the event was helpful and informative to all, and that everyone felt that their concerns were heard and discussed.
Our goals were to get everyone in the same room and identify any issues and there were many, which the Foundation Board will discuss and plan for going forward. We will be reaching out to your groups individually to further discuss some of the issues that were presented. We look forward to working with all of you and we will continue to work as hard as is necessary to improve the game for all.
For right now, we will focus on the recruitment of more officials so that we can fill the classes this winter. We ask for all of your help with getting the word out to your groups.
As promised, attached is the powerpoint from Thursday and also the link from the video is below.
I will send the applications for the junior officials classes in a separate email.
Thank you again for your support for this project and for all you do for the game,
Mike

The date is December 1st at 7pm at Levittown Memorial Education Center.
Over the past few years, we have seen the number of boys’ and girls’ officials dwindle drastically in lacrosse, and sports in general. The Reasons are many – retirement, low retention rates and sagging recruitment of new and younger officials as well as other reasons will be discussed.
If you are a stakeholder in our game, or simply just a fan or supporter, please join us in this very important Town Hall. There will be representatives from all aspects of lacrosse – officials, coaches, administrators, school district officials, league officials, club owners, tournament organizers, etc … Everyone in the lacrosse community is invited and all aspects of the game will be heard and discussed. We need to figure out how we can better work together, and attract more certified officials. The fate of our game depends on it.
Please see the attachment for more information.
If you have any questions about this event, or would like to attend, please let me know. RSVP’s are not required, but your attendance is encouraged and recommended. Please share this information with anyone that you think is interested in attending.
